After viewing the videos on the Vigiano Brothers and The World Trade Center: Anatomy of the Collapse, please complete the following assignment.
Part 1) Post three heartfelt and respectful comments regarding one or both of the brothers and their acts of heroism.
Part 2) Post and explain two ways which you believe will be helpful in protecting skycrapers in the future. These may be improved construction methods for future skyscrapers or ideas to protect current skyscrapers.
I wish I could have done something about the loss of Joseph Vigiano. He will be missed very dearly. He will always be a true hero to the USA. I do not know if this is possible but maybe we as Americans could put up a force feild around our major buildings in the US. Or maybe we can upgrade our security.

Joseph and John Vigiano are heroes. They made the ultimate sacrifice to help other people on 9/11, and for that we will always remember them. They and their fellow police officers and firefighters may be gone, but they are not and will not be forgotten.
ReplyDeleteI think a good way to ensure that future skyscrapers are protected is to stop being cheap. Expenses should be utilized for making stronger, safer buildings. Also, all buildings, especially skyscrapers, should have a well-planned emergency evacuation system. This would make sure that if in the event of a terrorist attack/accident, people could get out.

Joseph and John Vigiano are two of the greatest heroes in history. I want to thank these two brave men for their sacrifices for others. The people who got the privilege of knowing them are very lucky.

All skyscrapers should be guarded. There should be lights that warn other planes that it is there. People should always be ready for whatever can occur. Even if it not expected, they should be ready.

To make sure that the skyscrapers are protected for the future we should make sure that its fireproof. The twin towers were but when the planes hit them... well the fireproofing kind of came off. Maby we could find a way of makin the metal and concrete fireproof but still strong.

Personally, I think that Joe Vigiano was a national hero. He paid the ultimate sacrifice, and that was his life. I don't know many other people (besides Jesus) that would give their life for another soul. In his mind, one life isn't any more important than another. And for that, I think he's a hero.

In my mind, What Joe and John was and still is one of the best things you can do for your country. They knew that innocent civilians such as themselves and others were not going to survive, but they continued to help for those that would live.

I think that Joe Vigiano is a hero; he risked his life for other people and that really takes A LOT to do. I personally wish that we learned more about John Vigiano, but I still think that they are BOTH considered heroes. Rest In Peace.

Two ways to help skyscapers.......
1)To bulid the more expensive plan, not the inexpensive plan.
2)And I also think they should make it stronger. Maybe find a material that could withstand a hit a great as a plane or withstand the heat of an explosion.

1). Joe Vigiano was a true police man and a true hero. He died saving other people's lives and you know I don't even know him. Like i was little when he died but where ever you ask about him even to a stranger they will say that he was A TRUE HERO. So superman and spiderman are just normal dudes when compared to Joe Vigiano.
ReplyDelete2) I would recommend that more then one person should plan the building like a whole group of building designers should like get together and they should take a longer time thinking ever single little concept out like with the World Trade Centers they hurried to build it in time but they did not think that maybe even if the material is good strong and stuff but the constuction of the building also matters so they should take their time and build with in mind that thousands of people are going to work or what ever in this building, that even a single mistake could cause thousands of deaths. Rest is reality.

1.) I think that skyscrapers should be built out of stronger more flexable materiables. If sky scrapers are built more flexable they would be able to withstand greater force and not collapse.
ReplyDelete2.) Also skyscrapers should have a radar to see if anything is in the sky. If so then the building can send a message to the plane to let the people in the building know if they need to evacuate the building. Or let the plane know that the building is there.

I think that Joseph Vigiano is a very inspirational person. Throughout his years in the NYPD, he has helped the lives of many people. He is definitely considered a hero. It's horrible that him & his brother got killed in the twin towers.
ReplyDeleteSome helpful ways I believe will help protect skyscrapers in the future is to start a program that monitors the planes in the air & make sure they're not terrorists & to come up with a type of structure to prevent skyscrapers from collapsing easily.

I think that Joe Vigiano was an amazing hero to everyone; and he helped and inspired many people, not only in New York, but in the United States. He took his own life for American's he had NO IDEA who they were. I think its amazing that we have people like this in America, but it's sad we dont have all that many.
ReplyDeleteI think we can help keep skyscrapers in the future by doubling-up on airport security, do many many background checks on suspicious people, and I think we should have security cameras on ALL airplanes, and having someone view the tapes 24/7 so that we do not have another incident like 9/11.
Joe will be dearly missed.

ReplyDeleteFirst, I think that Vigiano brothers were brought up right and followed what their father told them. Second, I think that when they decided to help make New York safer by becoming a policemen and firefighter they impacted New York in ways may never know. Finally, I believe that they showed great self sacrifice for the lives of the people in the Twin Tower's Terrorist Attack.
ReplyDeleteI think the that there should be a device that if a plane went off course the control tower would try and contact the plane if the plane did not answer they would be able to use a second device to overide the manual controls and safely land the plane on the nearest runway. Another thing is that they should make an adjustment to the original plan and instead of using the tube method they should continue the the tube method with more framework on the inside like a normal skyscaper; they should also use something much stronger than a trust to hold floor up.
